Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: As of yesterday, Nash hasn’t been presented with any offers to accept or decline. The Flyers are on Nash’s list, and they have had trade talks for months. The trading of James van Riemsdyk is only a hurdle. The Flyers still have assets to get a deal done. The Rangers make the most sense. Blue Jackets still want to include at least one of Chris Kreider, Ryan McDonagh or Derek Stepan. If the Flyers or Penguins land Parise, the Rangers interest may increase. The Red Wings are still in the running. The Sharks have an offer on the table. The Hurricanes want him, but so far Nash doesn’t want them. The Senators have pulled themselves out of the running.
Aaron Portzline via twitter: The Hurricanes keep coming hard after Rick Nash. As of yesterday, they are not on Nash’s list, but it’s not stopping them. The Sabres are not on Nash’s trade list. Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson has talked with all teams about Nash with hope that he would expand his list. No sign of that happening.
Mike Hume via twitter: If Parise signs today, it should ramp up Nash trade talks. Unlikely to see a Nash to Rangers deal today in Hume’s opinion. Sticking point is Howsen’s high demands which the Rangers have balked at. The price will go up for Nash when Parise is signed. Hume thinks that Howsen will give it some more time to let all teams make their best offer. Hume also thinks that Howsen will work on Nash to accept a deal to a team not on his list if it’s the best offer for the Blue Jackets. Could take some time.
